Abstract

The Central Mosque (Jama Masjid) of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India was started in 1879 and was declared open on February 1, 1915. This magnificent structure inspired by elegant Jama Masjid of Shahjahanabad, Delhi was getting deteriorated after passing a century and got restored in 2016-2017. The paper is an attempt to understand the measures taken to restore the Jama Masjid, Aligarh Muslim University to its original glory.
