This paper reports a review article of the prevailing body of data of researches associated with sustainable building. The common analysis themes and methodology were known. These common themes square measure the definition and scope of sustainable building; quantification of advantages of sustainable buildings compared to standard buildings; and numerous approaches to attain sustainable buildings. It is found that the prevailing studies contend predominately specialize in the environmental side of sustainable building. Different dimensions of property of sustainable building, particularly the social property is basically unmarked. Future analysis opportunities were known like effects of climate on the effectiveness of sustainable building assessment tools, validation of real performance of sustainable buildings, distinctive demands of specific population, and future proofing
