Importance of the Cultural Heritage and its Methods of Preservation

Kalyani Prakash Varade

Abstract

Cultural heritage is the legacy that we have received from previous generations. It is a collection of sites, objects, and traditions that bring together art and history and all the values of different cultures around the globe. Cultural heritage includes tangible culture and intangible culture.
Cultural heritage sites and objects are rare on this earth's surface and have outstanding universal value to humanity. Therefore, the main aim of preserving cultural heritage is for future generations to know and appreciate the importance of our glorious past. Protecting cultural property from damage, theft, or other loss is what it means to preserve cultural heritage. Other than these threats other factors like natural disasters, buildings, and development, transportation infrastructure, utility infrastructure, pollution, biological modifications, climate change, sudden ecological events, few
religious associative activities, indigenous hunting and gathering, tourism sectors, etc. are continuously affecting both the cultural heritage i.e., tangible and intangible too. The goal of this research paper is to look at how and why cultural heritage is important. The detailed study will help
to determine the causes behind the destruction of cultural heritage and its methods of preservation.
