Nottingham Contemporary Museum: Between the return of the body system (Phenomenology in Architecture) and systems of communications (Structuralism and Semiotics)

Abstract


This paper studies and tries to understand Nottingham contemporary museum through two different interpretive strategies. First of them is the phenomenology understanding and the second is the Structuralist and Semiotics theory approach. Throughout it gives a description and illustrate the theories of origins and basic principles to help addressing such a contemporary building and read it, find out its architectural meaning and individuals different perception and interpretation to such a building through different theories.
