Abstract

The current study focuses on town planning of Ulwe region which is situated in Navi Mumbai. Ulwe is a prime location with increasing popularity in the recent years and has been a hotspot for investors to make the most out of the ongoing projects and expected rise in property prices. Ulwe region has good characteristics in terms of neighborhood and site resources, so effective planning is required. The region required better space and urban development. This area is located near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai Socio-Economic Zone and be the most in demand in future. Town planning requires spatial analysis for better decision making. Geographical Information System (GIS) allows integration of spatial and non-spatial data, thus it is useful for analyzing and editing spatial information for preparation of town planning zones and maps. An in-depth explanation is provided of the process by review of papers which has evidently been used for developing and planning the Ulwe region.
