Integrating the Rental Housing Market - In Metropolitan zones

RENUKA KJ, Sheeba Chander

Abstract

Since the evolution of the human era, the race has been constantly in search of integrating the necessities of life food, shelter, clothing as they are the principles needed for survival. The shelter evolved from its mother nature and has undergone various social changes that led to both boons and cons through the concepts of revolution and urbanization. The effects of urbanization leading to more migrational populations into urban centres started to have effects on their shelter leading to the transformation of spaces into blocks. The paper aims to identify the reason for the housing crisis due to urbanization issues and focuses on alternate concepts available in housing to balance the growing migrational population from further degradation and analyze the parameters of rental housing that helps in achieving solutions through policy guidelines and design strategies for the present and future population.
