The Impact of Home Office on the Working Demography and Architecture in India

Abstract


This research aims to study the role of architecture in helping accommodate Work from Home in residences in India and to study its impacts on the employees working on Work from Home basis and the impact on the respective organisation’s growth. To fulfil the purpose of the research, an in-depth literature review was conducted on various articles, journals and research papers from various trusted sources was conducted, which further led the researchers to conduct a small survey on the employees who are either working on Working from Home basis or have an experience related to the same. The questions in the survey were aimed at deriving the impact of Working from Home on a micro scale on the employees’ physical and mental well-being and the changes they adopted in their residence. At a larger scale, inferences from the survey, articles and journals delivered the observed impact of Work from Home on employers and the concerned organisations. Conclusions drawn from the above study depicted the impact of Work from Home practice on architecture, possible benefits availed by the organisations and the employees and the development of a region.
