Climate Change: Impact on Various Aspects of Life

MRIDULA SHARMA, Shruti H Kapur, Sukriti Dogra

Abstract

Climate change needs no introduction in today’s era. It is considered as one of the very essential topics in any discussion based on earth and its environment. Global climate is undergoing certain changes because of various internal processes of earth’s system and several external forces. It is the change in the condition of the environment that can be distinguished by changes in the mean and the changeability of its properties that endures for a lengthy period, normally many years or longer. The concept of “climate change” was perceived by researchers in the late 1990s in the context of environmental pollution and ozone depletion. Since then, numerous initiatives on the international
and national fronts have been taken for the deceleration of the climate change process and curtailment of its adverse impacts. There are uncountable forces which work as causes of change in global climate today such as urbanization, industrialization, deforestation, increasing concentration of green-house gases in the atmosphere, and so on. As the phenomena of climate change is considered
to be a big matter of concern worldwide, the study shall assess its impacts on various aspects of life such as agriculture, livestock, biodiversity, water resources, and so on. The research also ascertains certain approaches and strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change. The study is undertaken
through the available secondary sources due to time and geographical constraints.
