New Directions for India’s Architectural Education After NEP 2020
Abstract
The implementation of India's National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 heralds a sea change in the country's educational landscape, one that will be reflected in architectural education. The purpose of this research study is to investigate the primary effects that NEP 2020 will have on architectural education in India and to suggest new paths that can be taken to improve the overall quality, relevance, and inclusiveness of architectural education. The paper examines the issues that architectural institutions confront and proposes viable solutions to integrate innovative pedagogical approaches, technology, sustainability, and social responsibility into the curriculum. These suggestions will be helpful for Architectural education in India, will equip to meet the changing needs of the profession and contribute to the nation's efforts towards sustainable development.
