Social Implication of Housing Intervention on Spatial Fabric of Slums

Abstract

Housing for poor has always been a priority since independence and has gained momentum after the recent policies of government in last decade with its focus on improvement in quality of life of urban poor. It is perpetual for urban professionals to review whether the implications are leading towards the desired social development. The present paper focuses on understanding the relationship of social and spatial fabric of slums with the help of case studies of pre-intervention and post intervention slums of Central India.
