Social Housing Tenure and Supply: England and Scotland

Simon Peter Taylor

Abstract

This article presents an overview of housing tenure and housing supply in both England and Scotland. The impact of devolution has fostered a situation where the housing systems in each country are evolving in separate ways. In England, marketization has impacted upon the social housing sector whereas in Scotland it has been more restrained. This has had an impact on the tenure in each country and the supply of housing.
