Tourism Development in Mizoram Under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Scheme

Abstract

The Scheme ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ is a vision to build-up India through empowering cultural heritage and integration in diversity among the people of different states and Union Territories. This idea was mooted by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on 31st October 2015, on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. In this scheme, the States and Union Territories have been paired to promote cultural aspects of one another state through conferences, seminars, quiz, essay competition, etc. India is incredible nation woven with fabrics of diverse linguistic, vibrant culture, religious views, regional and folk cuisines, dance forms, fairs & festivals, theatre, movie, handicrafts, sports, literature, etc. The spirit of mutual understanding amidst a shared history enables unity in diversity and stands as a symbol of nationhood and brotherhood that needs to be sustained and cherished forever. In this way, the old heritage and cultures of the country will be revived and will lead towards respective tourism development in the country. This paper emphasis on study of the program “Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat” and its significance in tourism development in Mizoram.
