Public and Private Spheres: Creating Qualities of Responsive Environment as Motive of Curiosity

Abstract


This essay studies how we can consider the interaction between public and private spheres and their impact in creating responsive public environment fulfilling the desire to discover the others through engaging with them. It also addresses the qualities of the built environment which can improve the interchange of ideas and thoughts between different realms, stated the characters of public and private spheres to create a responsive environment to community. The research strategy consists of two stages. Firstly, to depends on intensive literature review and then discuss these aspects in two neighbor buildings in Hyson Green Nottingham, UK. The research concludes that what makes liked place isn’t a measurable qualities or values according to realm of privacy and publicity control, however we try to measure them to ease the design process.
