Lockdown impact on Rural Life

Ar. Avitesh

Abstract

Nowadays we all are stuck in lockdown, facing many issues. This COVID-19 is over a nightmare. Lockdown is an emergency protocol which is employed to safeguard people’s life. Mostly in urban areas, people are working online in various fields such as education, IT companies, etc. As we all know villagers live in a different environment in the comparison of city life.  An outsized number of villagers are farmers and they have to move out for their fields, for their cattle.   In irrigated villages, this is often the harvest period and the busiest time of the year or you can say peak work season for agricultural labour. In rural areas, where the harvest is either just over or will begin this month, respondents report a dramatic come by work, whether on the fields or in non-agricultural activities. In this paper, I am going to cover all the impacts of lockdown in rural areas with the case study of a village – Charora, Bulandshahr Dist., Uttar Pradesh.
