A Review Analysis on Influencing Factors of Rural Housing and Settlement Pattern in India

Abstract


Along with food and clothing, housing is one of the necessities of mankind. Appropriate housing is an important component in the overall growth and development of individuals, so that they can enjoy both physical and mental, and live in a state of peace, security and dignity. Housing is a support on which rests all the required necessities for a better living. Since it is vital and a basic prerequisite, it has been established through various international and national legal explanations and commitments that housing is a fundamental human right. India is a country with natural resources; however, it is the compactly populated country having many numbers of villages and in which 70% of the total areas are comprised of rural areas. In rural settlements, the fundamental changes are authentically an outcome of the transformation of urbanization and various factors are associated with the emblematical changes of this settlement. The main objective of the present study is to regulate and analyze the most operational factors beneath the changing housing condition and settlement pattern, which illustrates the socioeconomic characteristics in the rural area.
